Domaine Milan | St Remy de Provence, Provence | France
Domaine Milan is a leading organic wine producer based in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, in the heart of Provence. Situated at the foot of the Chaîne des Alpilles, the estate’s vineyards benefit from a unique microclimate shaped by Mediterranean influence and natural protection from the Alpilles mountains. This prime vineyard location, combined with limestone and marl soils, produces high-quality fruit that defines the elegance and freshness of Domaine Milan wines.
Founded and led by Henri Milan, alongside his son Théo Milan, the domaine has been a pioneer of organic and biodynamic viticulture since 1988. Long before organic wine became mainstream in France, Henri Milan committed to chemical-free farming and continues to follow low-intervention, sustainable practices across the estate.
Domaine Milan specialises in natural wines made with minimal intervention. Fermentations rely on indigenous yeasts, with no additives, enzymes or commercial inputs. Many cuvées are produced without added sulphur, resulting in pure, expressive wines that reflect their Provençal terroir. Each vineyard parcel is vinified separately, following a Burgundy-inspired approach that highlights site-specific character and complexity.
In 2022, the Milan family expanded their vineyard holdings with a 12-hectare parcel near Orgon in the Alpilles. Planted with mature 40-year-old vines of Carignan, Grenache Noir and Syrah, this addition strengthens the domaine’s portfolio while supporting resilience to climate change through older vine material.
Domaine Milan wines are widely recognised within the natural and organic wine community in France and internationally.
