about us

Magusto Wines

Founded in 2025, Magusto Wines specialises in sourcing, importing, and distributing exceptional wines, with a focus on unique international natural wines.

We partner with independent producers and distributors who share our commitment to sustainable viticulture, minimal intervention winemaking, and chemical-free farming. Every wine in our catalogue is produced without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilisers, and without the addition of unnecessary additives such as commercial yeasts, enzymes, fining agents, or excessive sulfur. This natural approach preserves the grape’s genuine aromas and flavors while reducing environmental impact across the vineyard and winery.

Our curated selection focuses on wines that transparently express terroir—the climate, soil composition, and micro-conditions of each vineyard site. Because our producers avoid manipulation during fermentation and aging, each bottle delivers a true sense of place: the mineral notes of chalky soils, the bright acidity from cool-climate sites, or the ripe fruit character of warmer slopes. These authentic characteristics make our natural wines particularly appealing and we're proud to be able to offer them to you. Each represents an individual approach, unique story, and a snap-shot of the specific history on the vineyard they came from.

We believe this makes these products truely artisanal and pieces of art you can enjoy, talk about and share with your friends and family.

st. Martin of Tours

"Magusto" is a delightful Portuguese term that refers to a festive outdoor gathering, most notably associated with the celebration of Dia de São Martinho (Saint Martin's Day).
On St. Martin’s Day, various communities come together to joyously celebrate their cherished harvest traditions while honouring the genuine kindness of Martin of Tours, a compassionate Roman soldier who, according to legend, cut his warm cloak in half to provide shelter to a freezing beggar.
It is said that this remarkable act of compassion prompted a change in the weather, as warm sunlight suddenly broke through the encroaching cold. In Portugal, this brief, unexpected warm spell in early November is affectionately known as the “Verão de São Martinho” (St. Martin’s Summer).
Saint Martin's Day, celebrated on November 11th, is marked by a traditional festive gathering that showcases roasted chestnuts, the season’s first wines, and lively bonfires, all symbolising the conclusion of the harvest and the welcoming of winter.
It is this act of joyous celebration that beautifully encompasses everything that Magusto Wines stands for - Kindness, Gatherings, Changing Seasons, New Wines, and wonderful times shared with friends and family…
