Description:

Franco Terpin Jakot 2017 — a compelling amber Friulano from Friuli-Venezia Giulia

Franco Terpin’s Jakot 2017 is a striking 100% Friulano (locally called Jakot, which is Tokaj backwards) from the rolling hills of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, produced on the Italian–Slovenian border. The wine’s distinctive amber colour results from extended skin contact during fermentation, creating layered complexity and an immediate visual signature.

On the nose Jakot 2017 shows dried apricot, bright orange zest, chamomile florals and delicate toasted nut notes. The palate is textured and richly layered, driven by a savoury backbone and fine tannic grip that add structure and longevity. Balanced fruit, earthy mineral tones and lively acidity lead to a lingering, slightly spicy finish.

Made from organically farmed grapes in Franco Terpin’s vineyards, Jakot 2017 reflects both regional heritage and the winemaker’s innovative approach. Its structure and complexity pair beautifully with grilled octopus, mushroom risotto or hard, nutty cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano — versatile food matches for this bold amber wine.
