2018 | Francois Blanchard | A Table

$79.00

Description:

Deep and gently oxidative, this Sauvignon Blanc comes from an exceptionally low-yielding year. Sourced from 50-year-old vines planted on clay and silex in François’ La Grand Cléré, the fruit is destemmed and given an extended maceration before being pressed to old barrels.

In 2018 François Blanchard produced only a tiny fraction of his usual quantity because of very difficult weather; the tiny yields produced intensely concentrated wines. This macerated Sauvignon has the structure to develop gracefully over the next 40–50 years.

Rare and compelling, it is powerful and finely resolved — pair with pork chops or another substantial protein. Decant and let it open fully before serving.
