This 2019 cuvée from Les Petites Mises is the flagship old-vine Carignan from the woodlands upland above Béziers in the village of Quarante. Crafted from 100% old-vine Carignan grown on a mix of clay and limestone soils, the final hand-harvested pick is carefully manually destemmed and left to ferment and macerate spontaneously for two months in neutral barrels.
The wine then matures for a further two years in glass demijohns, allowing delicate development without intervention and preserving the grape’s natural expression. On the palate it is dark and brooding, offering concentrated ripe fruit, saline minerality and a gently tannic structure—an expressive, quietly powerful example of natural, sustainably farmed Carignan from the Languedoc.
