2020 | La Cave des Nomades | Vagamonde

$100.00

Description:

The 2020 Vagamonde reveals striking complexity: mineral-driven, profound and very long. Medium-bodied, bordering on full, it carries a serious, classical profile. A blend of Grenache, Carignan, Mourvèdre and Merlot from schist soils, it was matured in barrel. This impressive, highly collectible cuvée from the far south of France benefits from decanting before serving.

Portuguese vigneron José Carvalho spent nearly a decade in Banyuls-sur-Mer, where he built La Cave des Nomades into one of the region’s most respected domaines. The 2020 vintage marks his final release from there before returning to Portugal, making this bottling particularly significant. We look forward to his next project with great interest.

Best enjoyed in cooler months alongside robust fare — think roasted potatoes, seasonal greens and richly flavoured beef heart.
