Vicent Tomás and Carmen Torres planted their vineyard nearly twenty years ago on Carrícola’s white chalk soils, about an hour south of Valencia. They now farm and bottle great-value, slightly saline Mediterranean wines.
2021 was an outstanding year for Vicent. His wines show precise, ripe balance between acidity, tannin and sunlit fruit. Al Tall Blanc is direct-press Tortosí, a local grape, grown on Carrícola’s calcareous chalk. Fermented in tank, the wine is light–medium bodied with restrained apple and pear fruit, strong salinity and subtle earthy aromas.
