2022 | Conservatoire De Vignes Anciennes | Premier Press Du Yeti

$82.00

Description:

A blend of 31 Gamay varieties. Dense, concentrated and pure, it offers layers of fresh, youthful berry fruit alongside subtle vegetal notes. Karine and Cyril Alonso’s remarkable 1.5 ha domaine, the Conservatoire des Vignes Anciennes in western Beaujolais, is one of the most intriguing agricultural projects we know.

After making wine for years under their négociant label P-U-R, they bought this tiny ampelographic conservatory in 2016 and have since produced around ten striking cuvées from the site each year. The vineyard already contained over 100 varieties when they arrived; the couple have continued planting and today the total exceeds 140 old vines, set within 450 ha of forest.

Farming is extremely sensitive—very close to permaculture in approach—and the winemaking output is highly precise, as is the case with this vintage.
