This bottling is truly one of a kind. A spontaneous blend of wild Vitis sylvestris and Gamay, it grew from seed on granite and climbed the trunks of riverside trees in Karine and Cyril Alonso’s little corner of western Beaujolais. Such a cuvée is now almost unheard of.
The wine is concentrated and primary, with a faintly sappy character and a very light body driven by low alcohol (under 10%). Its fruit and structure are unlike anything we’ve encountered: aromas that leap from the glass and a taut, subtly sap-like frame.
Distinctive not only within wine but across agriculture itself.
