This wonderful 2023 vintage is a direct press rosé made from Syrah and Viognier. Each variety underwent a shorter, faster press than usual — roughly 2–3 days — and the juices were blended the day after the final press. Fermentation and élevage took place over winter and spring in neutral, old wooden foudres, resting on the fine lees. The wine was racked one week before bottling in early June.
Extended aging in old wooden vessels softens the youthful, overtly fruity character found in some earlier rosés from the domaine, producing greater depth, a richer aromatic profile and a subtle tannic grip. As the small estate matures, this gentler, more developed style has become their preference.
Tasting notes: deep-pale purple colour with southern fruit aromas tempered by bright citrus and a touch of spice. Best served chilled; pairs particularly well with saucisson or a mature cheese. This rosé’s fuller body and complexity make it well suited to a bar or dinner table as much as to outdoor sipping.
