Description:
This vintage of 2023 Chardonnay from Puligny-Montrachet — biodynamic, single-parcel, 1987 planting. Planted by Dominique Derain in 1987 in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, this biodynamically farmed Chardonnay comes from a clay and chalky-limestone parcel. Whole-bunch pressing produced delicate juice, which fermented and aged in oak barrels and remained on its fine lees for 18 months before bottling.
A sincere, luminous white Burgundy focused on fruit clarity and fresh acidity rather than weight. The palate is precise and fluid, finishing clean and mouthwatering—an accessible, food-friendly wine. Understated rather than showy, it reveals coherence, structure and a palpable sense of vitality.
Food pairings: ideal as an aperitif or with simple dishes, white fish, shellfish, and roasted vegetables.
