Blend of Silvaner from 60‑year‑old vines and Gewurztraminer from 30‑year‑old vines, all from a single northeast‑facing parcel on clay and limestone in Obernai. The Gewurztraminer was destemmed and macerated in the Silvaner juice for an extended period, producing a direct, relatively steely wine that reads more as a textural white than as a typical macerated wine.
The 2023 vintage was even and balanced. At this stage the fruit leans slightly more toward the Silvaner, while the phenolic texture is a touch grainier than in previous years.
Lambert Spielmann, A huge music lover and former social worker, has been farming just over two hectares in and around Epfig since 2017. A sensitive farmer and meticulous winemaker, Lambert’s wines are prized for their thrilling fruit, balance, precision and harmonious texture.
A serious, very beautifully made Alsatian wine.
