Description:

The Gut Oggau 2023 Timotheus is poised and quietly confident, this Grüner Veltliner–Weissburgunder blend comes from 40-year-old vines on slate, gravel and sand. One of Gut Oggau’s more structured, contemplative wines, it offers depth and character. A third of the fruit underwent three weeks of skin contact for there weeks, adding grip and savory complexity; the remainder is directly pressed, after which the wine is re-blended. Fermentation takes place in used 500-litre barrels. The wine stays in barrel for an elevage of about 12 months, with no batonnage. The wine is bottled unfined, unfiltered, and with zero addition of sulphur.

The result is a textured, amber-tinged wine with bright citrus oil, dried herbs, crushed stone, and subtle orchard fruit. Timotheus feels timeless and grounded—less flashy than Theodora but equally memorable. Ideal for slow conversation and food pairing, it’s a hedonistic yet soulful expression of this vineyard and vintage.
