2023 | Le Bois Dieu | Moreno de Verde Luna

$100.00

Description:

This 2023 cuvée blends Gamay, Gamaret, Chardonnay and Muscat, co‑fermented and aged in steel tank and amphora.

Le Bois Dieu (“God of Wood”) was started in 2015 by Swiss winemakers Salma Cassam Chenaï and Frédéric Thiry in Semur‑en‑Brionnais, about an hour west of Mâcon. They revived a few acres of old vines left in dairy pastures — survivors of a vineyard wiped out by phylloxera.

Their wines are impressive: balanced, refined reds and powerful, ageworthy whites. Reds are made with gentle extraction (no punch‑downs or pump‑overs) and see stainless steel, large cask and amphora. Chardonnay is picked fully ripe and often aged a long time — up to two years in used oak for wines like L’or du Soir.
