From a highly anticipated, concentrated and top-quality 2024 harvest in Te Matau-a-Māui, Hawke’s Bay, The Halcyon is 100% Sauvignon Blanc from the Osawa Vineyard in the Mangatahi subregion. After lower yields caused by the 2023 cyclone, fruit was picked slightly earlier, given a short maceration, then pressed and vinified entirely in tank—Amy and Olly’s usual approach.
Light to medium-bodied, tense and textural, it offers fresh, abundant varietal notes of citrus, green pineapple and green capsicum.
In 2024 the wine is especially concentrated and delicious—a silver lining to the reduced yields following the 2023 cyclone.
