Description:
Meet Cecilia, the free spirit of the Gut Oggau family — a field blend of red and white grapes that refuses to stay inside the lines. This isn’t your average orange wine. Born from a 1.4-hectare plot lovingly restored by Stephanie and Eduard, Cecilia is crafted from a traditional Gemischter Satz (mixed planting) and delivers something truly distinctive.
Two-thirds of the grapes are pressed immediately while the remainder spend time on the skins, yielding a wine that’s bright, structured and full of energy. Fermented with wild yeasts and aged in large, old oak, it’s bottled as naturally as it’s grown — unfined, unfiltered and made without additions.
The result is a dry, expressive amber wine with beautiful texture and untamed charm. Crunchy red fruit, subtle spice and a savory edge make it a standout on the table. Cecilia is honest, unpretentious and quietly rebellious — and even more enjoyable in Magnum.
Description:
Grapes for this Aligoté come from Dominique’s oldest plots in Puligny-Montrachet and are harvested late in the season, producing small, concentrated golden berries that yield an intense, richly textured wine. Planted on clay-silt soils in the lower slopes of Puligny, the vines are whole-cluster pressed at harvest; the juice is then fermented and aged for six months in a combination of oak barrels and a large foudre.
Extended barrel aging—carefully managed throughout the process—allows the wine to fully express the Aligoté’s natural character while preserving the variety’s delicate purity, resulting in refined finesse and elegant structure. Subtle aromatic and textural nuances are harmonized by the estate’s meticulous cellar work under Julien Altaber and Carole Schwab, who continue the thoughtful tradition founded by Dominique Derain.
Description:
The Le Ban is one of the best wines from the Derain vineyards! The wines here tend to reflect the vintage especially when it encourages slow but steady growth in the vineyard leading to wines with good structure and length.
Le Ban is lieu-dit just to the west of Saint-Aubin and is classified as Saint-Aubin village. The Domaine Derain plot in Le Ban is the first vineyard Dominique Derain purchased. It is tiny and now consists of .6 hectare of approximately 60 year old vines and .23 hectares of young vines, all of which are Pinot Noir.
The exposure is southerly and the soil gravelly clay and limestone. The wine is a mix of 80% destemmed and 20% whole bunches which were macerated for 18 days, then pressed and aged in 228 litre barrels for 11 months before bottling.
Description:
Jean-Pierre Robinot’s lovely Pétillant Naturel normally made from a blend of Chenin Blanc (60%) and Pineau d’Aunis (40%) from the Tours area — this 2023 vintage is solely Pineau d’Aunis. Grown on the north bank of the Loire between Orléans and Angers, Pineau d’Aunis is prized for its aromatic complexity and a subtle, pleasant bitterness on the finish that keeps the wine lively and intriguing.
Sourced from Jasnières vineyards but bottled as Vin de France rather than under the appellation, this wine shows a delicate onion-skin hue typical of Pineau d’Aunis and a bright, refined mousse that lifts the aromas. At a gentle 10% alcohol, it nonetheless delivers the signature depth and layered complexity of Jean-Pierre’s wines, with a fine bead and a long, lingering finish that invites another sip. A beautifully complex pét-nat, elegant and immediately approachable.
Description:
This is an interesting cuvee because it has a small amount of Pinot Beurot (Malvoisie, Pinot Gris) blended with the dominant Pinot Noir. (Incidentally, Pinot Liébault, which is a mutant of Pinot Noir is also permitted in this appellation).
Centuries-old Pinot Noir vines planted on marl soils at the foot of east-facing slopes produce this Le Plante Chassey 2023. The parcel sits low on the hillside, benefiting from marl-rich terroir and morning sun exposure. Vinification takes place in conical wooden vats with 70% destemmed, followed by a 15-day maceration and 10 months’ aging on lees in 228L oak barrels.
The Mercurey appellation is increasingly receiving critical acclaim as a number of young winemakers have recognised the attractive nature of the terroir here and are producing wines of considerable elegance.
Le Plante Chassey 2023 shows a structured, elegant profile: ripe but restrained red fruit supported by fresh acidity and fine tannins. The wine emphasizes terroir depth without heaviness or excess, delivering finesse, precision, and a lingering, focused finish. Earthy and soulful, this Pinot Noir is drinkable now yet built for aging. Ideal as a table wine and a perfect match for roasted meats and mushroom dishes.
Description:
This vintage of 2023 Chardonnay from Puligny-Montrachet — biodynamic, single-parcel, 1987 planting. Planted by Dominique Derain in 1987 in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet, this biodynamically farmed Chardonnay comes from a clay and chalky-limestone parcel. Whole-bunch pressing produced delicate juice, which fermented and aged in oak barrels and remained on its fine lees for 18 months before bottling.
A sincere, luminous white Burgundy focused on fruit clarity and fresh acidity rather than weight. The palate is precise and fluid, finishing clean and mouthwatering—an accessible, food-friendly wine. Understated rather than showy, it reveals coherence, structure and a palpable sense of vitality.
Food pairings: ideal as an aperitif or with simple dishes, white fish, shellfish, and roasted vegetables.
Description:
This wonderful 2023 vintage is a direct press rosé made from 60% Syrah and 40% Viognier. Each variety underwent a shorter, faster press than usual — roughly 2–3 days — and the juices were blended the day after the final press. Fermentation and élevage took place over winter and spring in neutral, old wooden foudres, resting on the fine lees. The wine was racked one week before bottling in early June.
Extended aging in old wooden vessels softens the youthful, overtly fruity character found in some earlier rosés from the domaine, producing greater depth, a richer aromatic profile and a subtle tannic grip. As the small estate matures, this gentler, more developed style has become their preference. Deep-pale purple colour with southern fruit aromas tempered by bright citrus and a touch of spice. Best served chilled; pairs particularly well with saucisson or a mature cheese. This rosé’s fuller body and complexity make it well suited to a bar or dinner table as much as to outdoor sipping.

Perhaps Domaine Milan's most iconic cuvée, Le Grand Blanc is a wine which can age for up to 20 years. The domaine does the first part of this aging. This 2019 vintage spent 12 months in old oak barrels and then a further 5 years in a concrete tank. It was bottled in May 2025. It is a blend of Chardonnay, Muscat à Petit Grains, Grenache Blanc, Rolle, and Roussanne, all of which are direct-pressed and co-fermented. The vines are approximately 35 years old and grow in silty clay on a subsoil of blue marl.
The Milans tasting notes describe it beautifully "Exceptionally fresh. Aromas of fennel and garrigue dominate the nose and palate, with a long, stony finish that underscores its minerality." But we also love longtime cellar master Sébastien Xavier's description when we tasted it with him last year. He simply said "it gives me goosebumps". He's helped make this wine for 20 years and this is definitely one of the best.
